I had California Closets design our closets 17 years ago. ALL of their advertising says FREE design consultation. After waiting several days for a return call, actually this was the third call, I get a phone call from someone that says she is making a "courtesy call". Which threw me off.. "courtesy calls" don't suggest you really want to talk. Our experience with this company and Donald exceeded our expectations. This type of project has been a dream of mine for many years, but still caused a bit of anxiety while researching options. From the first visit to the show room to the moment the installers left my home, those concerns vanished. While they may have been busy helping their clients, both employees did not have the courtesy to acknowledge our presence to tell us to come back another time, take our name and number, or give us their business card. I even made eye contact with one employee and she looked away without acknowledgment. Terrible customer service in the Los Altos studio. We will not be using their services because of this!
My husband and I recently had a consultation with Allisson for a wall bed unit in our spare room. She was both friendly and professional and the different designs she provided us with looked beautiful and fit our criteria perfectly. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after our meeting with her that we realized our existing furniture just wouldn't fit right in the room without that wall space no matter what configurations we tried. It was a pleasure to work with California Closets & designer Linda McHale. I have a small to medium size bedroom walk-in closet & with the design suggestions from Linda, I am amazed that we are able to fit all items & then still have space for future additions. I was concerned that designing & cost aspects would make the project of revamping our closet space very stressful, but under Linda's care and guidance, it was quite the opposite. Our pantry was in dire need of a makeover. The wire shelves made everything fall over. There was no organization at all so we called California Closets! They made our master bedroom and laundry room amazing so we thought they would be able to do the pantry as well. What an amazing job .... shelves, drawers, baskets and even a wine X! Though my closet came out great by California Closets I WOULD NOT RECOMMENDED THEM. Reason because someone either the lady watching the install because she's new or the 2 young guys that installed it stole something out of my night stand. What was it you ask? It was my medication that I specially put in there before they came and found it missing after they left. I contacted the company and course all denied it.
