I just recently had my walk in closet installed by California Closets. The closet designer, Nicole, came to my home and worked with me on the space. We discussed my needs and use of the space and she designed a layout that met all of my needs and was extremely functional. She was able to design the closet on sight and give me a price quote. I cant even tell you the stress I was under with our NEW house that we completed renovated. I had been living with a target closet and finding that I was in the beginning stages of psychosis. There's nothing more centering and than therapeutic than having a closet after weeks of living out of a box. I cant thank Michelle Miller enough for helping me get the earliest installment date possible. I owe her so much more than just this review. After trying a family-owned more local closet company and being extremely disappointed with just the appointment setting and quoting process, I turned to Calif Closets and the process was smooth, fun and professional from beginning to end. I love my newly designed closet and the 10% saved by being a Costco member is icing on the cake.

Great selection and customer service. When they found that our whole pantry floor was significantly tilted in one direction while installing our cabinetry, they returned the next day with special pieces for the bases and made it work, for free.

I called California Closets to get someone in to give us a quote for garage closets. Their designer, (Fariba Larjevardi), called back promptly and scheduled an appointment. Fariba arrived on time, and we showed her all the stuff piled up in the garage of our new house. Fariba was super-professional and made some great configuration-suggestions that used up all the space on the wall. Horrible. I would choose zero starts but it's not an option. If you call receiving emails weeks later proper communication when you are spending thousands of dollars, then this is the company for you! I never received plans, emails or calls in a timely manner. We needed them to measure something in particular that the closet needed to be built around, but when it didn't fit after installation, we learned our designer had "eyeballed the item" and figured that would suffice. These people are extortionists... They came to give me a "consultation" where I explained that I have deep closets and want to use the full depth of the closet... We went back and forth on designs, then when they delivered the closets they were only about 12 inches deep, about 1/3 of my closet space. Who would want a closet like that? I already paid them 1/2 up front, but refused to pay the other 1/2 because they didn't install the closets I asked for. My Murphy bed broke on the first use. It took six weeks, many many phone calls into their office (most of which were unreturned) and three additional trips that their installers made to my house to fix the bed. There are still issues with the bed that i am living with because its not worth the hassle of calling them daily to try to get a responce. This company is done with you the moment they are paid. The whole experience was miserable and I would never recommend them.

I moved into a new home and compared closet companies before going with California Closets. The quality of their product is superior to the others and the cost only slightly more. During the design of my closet, I was unsure how many shelves I needed. My designer said, "you don't have to order everything now, you can add shelves any time after installation, we keep your design and you can get additional shelves, even years from now, if you want them for $12 each."
