I called California Closets because my closet was a mess. I experienced nothing but professional from customer service and the representative Lisa McGowan that was assigned to me. She is great with follow up and what is sensible for organization. She is very pleasant and a breath of fresh air. I am in love with my closets she designed for my husband and I.

This review is in regard to their consultation and bidding process. We didn't end up choosing this company because their prices are higher than what we wanted to pay. We did have a good experience with their consultant. She arrived on time and prepared a nice design for us. Their design software is awesome and gives you a pretty clear idea on the layout, etc. The quality of their product sounded good as well. The quote for the garage was completely insane, price-wise. I am extremely disappointed with the service I recently received from California Closets out of Boston. I had similar problems to various other reviewers in terms of terrible customer service and a poorly planned/inefficient installation. A designer came out for a consultation in July of 2017 and my installation was only completed on 10/12/17 as the installers had to come out FOUR times to get it right. I've never written a review but I needed express my disappointment with CC. I've used them before and was very happy but not this time. Closet measurements were way off and designer was non responsive. Not sure why they have their designers do measurements. I was fortunate the installer was great and was able to make it look ok. I was assured that I would not have to pay until I was completely satisfied but they charged my cc and have not received any follow up despite my complaining to corporate. Paid $14,000 for closets which was fine when I inquired about moving the closet which was one fixture across the street they wanted an additional $7000. Absolutely insane!!!! This was a simple unit and this was just highway robbery! Will never use them again!

Preston Mitchell was our Designer for California Closets. He arrived on time and took measurements of the closet area. Within an hour he had proposed a design for us based on information that we provided him about our needs. It looked fabulous. I would definitely recommend Preston Mitchell to design your closet. It was shown to us in 3D and we were able to look at the design from all angles including overhead. It took about 5 weeks to get the finished product. While the quality of the end product is great, customer service is really disappointing. We had them come back twice to replace handles and doors that were misordered (once can happen but twice??). Then we ended up being upsold as we were building the closet. Without knowing the full details they increased our SOW very significantly without explaining, without assuming that we needed to be informed about everything that may increase the original estimate. We felt misinformed and taken advantage of. It's a shame.

This is the second time I've used California Closets in Los Gatos and they are amazing. Worked with Rosie Hames, who could not have been more helpful or more creative, and she delivered our dream master closet. She was really helpful in the design, and the execution was great. She managed to design it with lots of hanging space, shelving, hampers, a dresser, even an ironing board in the dresser, all without it seeming crowded at all. It's beautiful!

Nice closets but the first round got the door sizes wrong and they had to come back. Then the scheduling person didn't tell me that my appointment was actually 2 appointments and I had to be at home much longer than they first said. These people are trying to do too many jobs with too few administrators. I hope they're making a lot of money because their admins must be cheap. Edited: They gave me back some money on the deal and I'm happy now. Right the first time is better but they were quite reasonable about reparations.
