Approximately a year ago or more I met with a rep, Wendy, from California Closets at my condo. She represented the company poorly with her arrogant and judgmental attitude. She rarely followed up with me and her attitude was as if I could not afford to purchase a custom made closet. She had a chip on her shoulder as if she is better than others. So sad for her. An absolute S$&t show of a company when it comes to business and actual installation. We hired them to build out a master closet. They put it in and drawers failed to close and open. Hanging rods fell in the middle of the night, literally. Lastly, and this is still ongoing....they would not install the hardware we contracted. Now it is 1-1/2 years later and after no response from our inquiries they have decided it is time to collect, i am literally being threatened to their attorney. We used California Closets for two of our closet installations, I asked our representative Cari, numerous times about instructions for our contractors...she neglected to tell us that the walls needed to be patched and painted prior to install, and the installers don't care, so they installed anyway...now we have been waiting for this to be fixed for over a month! I hired the local person to install new closets and was clear about what I wanted (no holes visible in shelving). They installed shelves with holes and when I asked for them to be repaired, customer service told me I would have to pay to replace all of the shelves. I asked to speak to a manager who was not helpful. I then asked to speak to her manager. And again, was told I would have to pay to cover the replacements. I am an interior designer and had two closets designed for a client and ordered these in December 2020. It is august of 2021 and the closet still is not done. The rep Mariana we worked it was beyond incompetent and unprofessional, not to mention entitled and very cold and impersonal. We paid over $10000 for these very small closets and they have done nothing but provide an untimely, faulty design, shotty workmanship and poor overall customer service- from the rep, to the installers, to the scheduling manager. I am extremely disappointed with California closet installation service. I am currently pregnant and during the installation appointment, we wanted the installation person to wear a mask. He asked us atleast 5 times if he can remove the mask since he is vaccinated. There are breakthrough cases because of Delta variant and he knew I was pregnant but he kept on insisting to remove the mask. At the end we gave up and said yes even though we were uncomfortable. Still waiting for the installation of a drawer which was wrongly designed in the original installation. The original installation was in November 2020. Today is July 2nd 2021. In the interim, they sent 2 wrong drawers and promised to replace quickly. I have a whole chain of emails and text messages with the company and with the sales rep. No one apologizes. Were having a murphy bed wall unit installed in our office space. After the initial design consult it took close to 8 weeks for install, which I understood. Had to continually call for scheduling updates. Got an email from Sales rep said she would come out and remeasure before the final install, and never heard from her since...
