Person came out to sketch designs. I decided to move forward. Took over a month to coordinate a date to install. 1 out of 3 closets was measured incorrectly so had to be redone along with a new design. Its been a month and still waiting for a design. I have called the company 3 times and no call back. Last time I use this company and will tell all I know.. So disappointed and poor customer service!

I had read really great reviews about California Closets and was excited to work with them. Due to their popularity and packed schedule, they were the last of 4 closet companies we got estimates from. When we scheduled the consultation, we were told to allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the appointment. The whole thing lasted about 30 minutes. The designer arrived 20 minutes late and didn't even offer to take off his shoes. We showed him the space, and he immediately started telling us what we should do with it. I've been trying to get my job done since August and I can't even get them to return my phone calls now. I have a partially completed job - that I have already paid over $7000 for - and no idea when it will be done.

We called, we emailed. We got one return call and one return email then when we tried to set up an appointment - nothing. We followed up - nothing. We went to Econize and stayed with them for a linin, reach in, walk in, laundry room and garage. They responded quickly and had us set up in less than a week - after spending 2 weeks trying to get CC.

Started our closet on September 4th when the designer came to our house. Just finished the closet this week April 6th. This is a simple walk in closet. There were promises made that they could custom make glass front drawers that were to be the centerpiece of my closet. After many mismeasurements and failed attempts I finally gave up and settled for plain Shaker style drawers. Very disappointed. You should avoid this CA Closets in Chantilly with a showroom in Chevy Chase.They are unresponsive,unprofessional,and mostly,they do not conduct their business in an honest way. The first designer that was assigned to our project wasted so much of our time and delayed our project by promising something and disappearing afterward. I saw nice pictures from California Closets so when I decided to redesign my walk-in closet this is my go-to place. After filling out the online form, their designer, Edwin, contacted me and scheduled a free consultation. Everything went well and I was pretty happy with Edwin's design. Just gave him a few revision suggestions and I think I might sign the contract with them. However, everything changed on the next day. My experience with California Closets has been quite comical. I completed an online request to schedule a free consultation and was contacted within 48 hours and immediately set up for the design consultation. The designer called me less than 24 hours prior to the meeting to get a better idea of the job before arriving which seemed fair enough until he proceeded to tell me that he really didn't know if he could create built ins for our existing closet based on the photo I sent and my description of the closets. Do not hire this company. I have been trying for three weeks to get them to my house to repair a wall unit in my closet that they installed 10 years ago. The installation manager Wayne does not return phone calls, but when you finally reach him he is gruff and rude. I have asked to speak to the owner several times but have never been given his name or contact info. I am always referred to the unfriendly installation manager Wayne.
