I have used Monika at California Closets and she is fantastic!! I can not say enough good things about her. She is very professional, on time, answers emails right away, is super fast and efficient (her turn around time is a day or two for the design) and best of all, she is incredible creative with spaces, she is awesome. We ordered a custom $40k closet. Met with designer and which took her 2 days of being at my house to complete. 2 months later my appointment to install came and the installer showed up 2 hours late the first day. He started to install when I asked him why he installed 14 inch shelves and not 16 inch shelves. He said that's what material they included. I called the designer, but no call back. I actually "hang out" in my closet--yes, hang out there--just because it's so nice. The designer did a fantastic job and really took into account my specific utilitarian needs as well as design aesthetic. The design is particularly impressive because I have a curved wall at one end of the closet. The designer came up with the brilliant idea of putting a full-length mirror (which I already owned) on that curved wall so that it would not be an entirely wasted space. I am looking for a company to hire for closet project. A friend and I stopped by the store in Berkeley today. There was a young woman at the desk using the computer and a woman talking with another woman (customer?) in the store. No one looked up ; no one said hello; no one said they would be with us in a minute; no one asked if we needed help. It was like we were invisible. Needless to say, I am not going to use them regardless of workmanship or design.
We are thrilled with our closets and the installers. The final product is very custom and completely suits our needs. Installation is perfection. The installers were thoughtful about protecting floors and furniture and really cared that that it was exactly to our specifications!
The employee taking calls was curt and rude on the phone. Then a designer came over, wasted 90+ minutes of my time then never got back to me with quote or a follow up. The customer shouldn't have to be the one chasing down their business nor should I have to accommodate their employee with bad attitude.
We had a great experience with California closets! the ordering and installation went very well! And the end results was fabulous! Can not believe how much more storage we have now!
I went into this process totally blind and absolutely love the results!
