California Closets, a grossly overpriced operation, was a major pain in the neck in our remodel. They delayed the process ("It's the contractor's fault," was a pretty classy excuse, given that the contractor had recommended them), brought the wrong doors for two closets and damaged doors for two others, then a couple weeks later brought the right doors, but the replacements for the damaged ones were wrong. We completed our master bedroom addition to our home and and we were really looking forward to the walk in closet. We decided to splurge and get organizers. After shopping around California closets was the best value and did a great job. They added triple the storage in our closet!
To say we are delighted with this company is an understatement. We had quotes from two competitors (Closet Factory and Closet World) and hated their overbearing, pushy sales women/designers. Closet World was only interested in price (she kept ringing her "boss" to get clearance to give us bigger and bigger discounts, which certainly didn't fool us), whilst the lady from Closet Factory spent the entire time bad-mouthing her competitors, and talking about how only their company produced "custom" closets, which is, of course, a... read more
We recently contracted CC of Bellevue for the Master closet of our new condominium at Insignia Seattle. While the unit is amazing, the design and space limitation of the closet proved challenging. Shaun met with me within days of my reaching out, and very promptly got back with a mock up and quote. The installer was gracious enough to squeeze us in with existing installations in the building for an expedited completion date. They are not flexible. Every time we asked for something they states it was not possible. Too many fixed shelves make for a lot of wasted space.
Horrible customer service. There were several problems with the closets after the installation, and getting them fixed has been extremely difficult and time consuming. The service department has a habit of ignoring phone messages and e-mails, taking long periods of time to get service visits scheduled, and not following up or through. The product is fine, but this store is not.
We loved our experience. We were a little worried at first because the California Closets brand is so positive that we were thinking it was going to come at a premium price. yes, it was a little more, but not as much as we thought and definitely within the range. I think Alyssa Cohen is Super Woman.....I had remembered her from a past condo closet project where she had the whole building as a launch project. I was at the end of a gut reno - EXTREMELY stressed out and in a hurry. She explained there could be a wait - but since my project wasn't enormous - she fit it in.
