Nothing but disappointment so far. I bought into a newly constructed condo on First Hill, and California Closets was offered as a "preferred vendor," with a meaningless discount on unnecessary items/upgrades, but a promise that they would have access to the building prior to completion so that my closets would be installed and ready for me upon move-in. Great company, I worked with them in LA years ago, I was with another company as a designer but, it all boils down to management. The materials used are all about the same, the installers are regular guys, so this leaves how the customers FEEL about the way they are treated. California Closets hires real people who actually care about their clients and what they want, not trying to cut corners and put them down if they want to spend money on all the bells and whistles or they are on a budget and just want the basics until th... read more

Designer: Trish Morrow is AMAZING! I need to say that again, AMAZING! Trish did such a bang-up job for us. We are SO happy with what Trish designed for us! Trish is the utmost professional person. We wish there were more "Trishs" is the world. Trish came to our house (when it was under major construction!). There was no place for her to work, but she made it happen. Used them for my home in La Quinta about 10 years ago and was trying to use them again for a new home in Rio Vista. Very uncooperative, bordering on downright RUDE, in trying to get info for two small 60" x 29" closets. Wanted to meet me at the home (not built yet), or at the model home to see what the closets looked like (?), told them they can make that drive up there to verify the size and then we could design what I wanted (drawers in middle with hanging on each side). Ask for Heather Mancini! I was looking for an entertainment center and she came for a consultation. She was on time, had great design ideas and paid attention to all the details while making sure everything met my needs. On top of that, Heather has such a wonderful personality. She is extremely kind, professional, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her.

Once again, love our new wardrobe closets. This is our 3rd time using California Closets. There was an issue where one of the door pieces was too long, but no problem because they had a new piece cut and the installer came back the same day to finish the job. We did have an issue with the drawers, but once again they are so responsive and will have someone come out tomorrow to fix the problem. We had master bedroom and a hallway closet put in by California closets. The overall experience was good. Cindy Anderson was our consultant and she did a terrific job understanding our needs, drawing up plans, and getting everything set up; so 5 stars to her. The quality of the material itself was good and sturdy but I think the installation could have been better -- (1) there were several (un-necessary) holes drilled into the panels that were patched up with stickers and it ended up looking ugly when viewed from the side. My husband and I have had two homes both of which have used California Closets. Our current home has a variety of cabinetry/storage. The first five were done by California Closets and the other spaces done by custom design by a local Brooklyn cabinet maker and also by Elfa. Based on having the closets for 5 years, I would definitely say that for nice cabinetry that is to be shown off, I definitely would have a custom design if you can afford it. We love our new walk in closet! Lylah from California Closets was very accommodating and was able to capture and design the kind of walk in closet that we envisioned for the master bedroom. The workmanship is quality workmanship! We highly recommend California Closets!
