I am displeased with the recent changes at Ruth Chris Steakhouse in Savannah. I have been a frequent diner for several years and have never experienced such subpar service. During my most recent visit, the restaurant was out of ribeyes, which I find inexcusable for a steakhouse. We visited your establishment because it was our 47th anniversary and we wanted to celebrate at a high end steakhouse. Our waiter was excellent and made us feel welcome and provided excellent service. We came with friends who helped us enjoy the event. Our friends both ordered the fillet, my wife the shrimp and I had your T-bone. I ordered a $150 bottle of Camus to compliment the beef and that too was excellent. Food was excellent. Actually the fire roasted corn was one of the best things I ever ate. The chop salad was definitely the best I ever had. The steak couldn't be any better.
Whenever I'm in Savannah which is several times a year, I never miss this restaurant if I have a free night. The decor is classic RC and food quality and service has been consistently excellent over the years. What made me write a review this time is the fact that they decided to round up enough employees to open in the middle of hurricane/tropical storm Debby (which came right through Savannah) when most of the down was shut down due to flooding concerns. The food and service were both excellent highly recommend. Would highly recommend not only for a special occasion but as a date night also.
As soon as we were seated, I told them I had issues with dairy and soy. I ordered the filet and shrimp and said again that I could NOT have any butter or soy on the food. I also ordered the fries, as I was told there would be no issues. I asked the server to confirm there was no chance of cross-contamination with dairy or soy. This location is a Savannah staple. Been here several times celebrating anniversary. It's very consistent flavors and service is always good and the atmosphere is always professional and romantic. Been here multiple times and will continue to frequent establishment.
I am an OG veteran of Ruth's Chris, but up until now only in California. Beverly Hills, Anaheim, San Diego, Del Mar.
