We needed 2 closets designed/installed and had a few vendors bidding for the work. Although we did not select CA Closets in the end, they were our 2nd choice (delivery date constraints). We worked with Heather who was professional, pleasant and very knowledgeable. She was a good listener who captured what we needed. Their showroom had great samples of what they can do. i have a tiny closet that basically doubles as a hallway and it sucked. i finally broke down and contacted california closets just to see what was possible. designer katie set up shop in our home and whipped up a 3-D model of her suggestions. coupled with my feedback, within weeks i have a closet so perfect other people keep asking to see it. and it's anchored to the studs, clean in aesthetic and makes it feels like a good use of space at last! i'm so grateful i reached out and got katie's help!
Unfortunately I wanted to love my new closest and laundry room done by Cal Closets, but there is nothing positive I can say about the experience. Every step had problems from design issues, measurements that didn't match and they just modified during installation and left me no choice, sloppy install work, installation of unmatching hardware, delays in some materials being available, poor communication, etc. The install lasted over 2 months and involved 6 different people coming to work on it at various points. California Closets is the best! From the initial meeting with Gerardo to the installation, the experience couldn't have been better. We wanted to transform the garage into an entertainment area, and Gerardo designed the perfect space. The cabinets were installed on time and for exactly what was quoted even though some minor changes were made along the way. Very helpful team and great results! Yes, initial consultations can take some time to get, but it is so worth it. Bob Holcomb has helped us with three rounds of closets now, as we have remodeled our house in stages. Every time he has patiently found solutions to make the closets do exactly what we want them to do. (Including the 7' deep closet that was only 3' wide--making that work at all was a miracle.) I was really impressed with our California Closets experience. From my initial meeting with Gerardo through to the install the level of expertise and professionalism were outstanding! We were looking to install closets, cabinets and storage in our remodel so it was quite a big project which the company handled perfectly. Gerardo helped with the design, measurements and coordinating the install and took the time to understand our expectations and limitations which resulted in one happy customer :-)
Editing my review and giving an extra star because the company reached out to offer a solution / different consultant which I appreciated. Not quite sure if the consultant I got was new or inexperienced (Kristina) but she arrived 30 mins late to our appointment and didn't bring any information or photos. After taking measurements, she quoted me 7k for a small closet with wood doors. I said forget the doors and just give me the most basic closet (2 rods, some shelves and no drawers). Worked with California Closets a few years ago and they did a great job, but this time around ran into many hurdles with the new staff (previous owners sold their business). The only reason I still gave them 5 stars is because the new owner took it upon herself to resolve all the issues that were initially created by the Design Manager, Naomi Carter.
