I met Soumil to ask some basic questions (not looking to paint, just yet) and he was kind enough to educate me a little about what steps needed to be taken before painting my house. He didn't rush me. He didn't push me to start the job. He understood that I just wanted some info and he was a great source of helping me understand the timeline of how long it would take and things that would be done to complete the job. When I have the money ready, I'm calling him!
Wow, what a mistake! CertaPro seemed like a reputable company, had good references. Their bid was the lowest and they were available on fairly short notice. Maybe that should have tipped us off. They ended up taking 3 days longer than they said, so we had to change our move date. But we really wouldn't have minded that if they'd done a good job. We had a 10AM appointment scheduled with Soumil for an estimate and it's now 10:35. No phone call. Nothing. I actually called at 9:30 to confirm the appointment and left a message. I also called and left another message at 10:20. Not okay. What makes a business think they can treat consumers like this is beyond me. I'm glad prior customers had such good service and great results with CertaPro, but they won't be receiving my business. After years of deliberations we decided to get our house painted from the outside as well as inside, it was a big/expensive job for us. We got multiple quotes from different companies including Certapro and decided to go with them. Soumil was very professional, he responded to all of our 101 questions and promised to follow through. We hired CertaPro to paint two bathrooms, a hallway, dining room and a bedroom. For the most part, we are extremely pleased with their work. They worked hard, super nice, finished on time and the pricing was competitive. The only exception...the paint in one of the bathrooms started wiping off after a week. We've used CertaPro twice now for complete jobs of indoor painting. They are responsive, reasonably priced, and extremely helpful. Soumil even helped us choose paint colors that would look good based on our ideas, and he was flexible with the date we wanted to begin. During the job the crew arrived and left on time and completed the entire inside of our condo and our house exactly as planned. Their employees are friendly and respectful. We were very pleased with their service and would recommend them without hesitation!
Our experience with CertaPro was better than we expected. My friend recommended them to us. We met with Carlos first, who provided a detailed estimate for exterior painting. They had the best price compared with the other quotes we got. I did not have a good experience with CertaPro painters. I found the owner who came to my home to be very pushy. He didn't like the colors I had chosen and told me just what colors I should use and how the rooms should be painted (e,g, while ceilings, hall and living room same color, etc.). I resented his approach because I had my own ideas about what I wanted and they were not respected.
I hired CertaPro to paint the interior of my loft in Oakland back in 2007. Soumil was extremely professional in all his meetings, and he had someone on staff that helped me with color choice and placement - we have one "drama" wall, and I was leaning toward painting everything else a neutral. She suggested a warmer color, not too dark, on the very long wall that carries through the kitchen area into the living area. I love it, and am so glad we went that way!
