I really wanted to try this company. I did get a referral from a family friend and was expecting a fair price, but I felt I got far from that. They were going to charge me the same to paint a half of house that they charged the family fried to paint a duplex; can you say confused!? I had 2 other companies give me a quote and they were in the same ball park. I was extremely satisfied with CertaPro. My small East Bay home badly needed an exterior paint job - whoever did it previously did a bad prep job and it was peeling and in very poor shape. I got about 5 bids. Soumil, the owner, did not give the lowest bid of those 5, but he gave the most thorough and was the most attentive to pointing out little extra things that would be important to take care of now to prevent problems in the future. I'd give them zero stars if Yelp would let me. I hired them to paint the exterior of my house. What Soumil said they would do and what they actually did couldn't have been more different. The prep work they did was horrible. They didn't replace the caulk between the siding, just added a little on top. They didn't allow it to dry so when they painted over it, the caulk shrunk and the old, cracked caulk was exposed. I hired Certa Pro to paint my 2 bedroom-loft in Berkeley. Soumil measured my apartment and gave me a quote, which was a bit high, but I was able to negotiate it down to a reasonable price. I am very pleased with their work. The painters came on time and were really professional and courteous. They had an upbeat, "hop-to-it" sort of attitude, even when they were sweeping 10 years of dust off some of the ledges on the walls.
