We have had a horrible experience with California Closets. Terrible communication, significant delays without any follow up from the company, facts misrepresented. They installed a half completed project without telling us they didn't have any of the doors, and things just got worse from there. Would strongly discourage anyone from even considering them as an option.

This was a great experience from start to finish! We did our kids reach in closets. Barbara was our designer and she listened to what we wanted and worked her magic to make it work! Would definitely use them again!

I was overwhelmed by all the targeted ads for custom closets when we were first considering the project. I reached out to California closets for an initial estimate and Leah showed up a little early for our appointment and worked diligently to ensure everything we wanted for within our budget. From suggesting several options that fit the items we had to recommending an amazing contractor for Tearout, we are so happy we worked with Leah. She's responsive, professional, and a huge reason why we chose California Closets.
DO NOT USE THEM! What started out as an exciting experience has turned out so very disappointing. I started this project in Oct 2022 and after several empty promises, lack of communication, an incomplete install, and much frustration, my project is STILL NOT DONE! I'm now approaching month 8, and I'm still getting "vendor delay" answers. These guys are a scam. Please avoid California closets. I ordered a closet with them. After a multi-month wait they partially installed my closet in Jan. They said they'll come back and finish it. It is May now, no one would care to return my messages. I have a closet waiting to be finished for 4 months with no end in sight and no one even caring to respond. Avoid California closets like a plague. I got my second closet done by Closets By Design. They are much better and finish the job.
What started out as an exciting project ended up being a disappointing experience overall. My designer, Amanda, really took my thoughts and ideas about my closet needs into consideration and that was reflected in the designs she came up with, which I did really like. I had California Closets design 3 closet spaces for me: a spare bedroom would become a walk-in closet/dressing room; a second closet would be used as storage for gym items; and the 3rd was for the laundry room for just over $20K total. 6 weeks later and still no meaningful progress. They showed up twice more with the wrong product. The local team doesn't care, the corporate team doesn't care and it was way too much time and money for me not to care. At this point, I have absolutely no idea how this project will get finished because this franchise of California Closets is completely incapable of finishing it.
