Terrible experience. I am so very disappointed. I wish I had gone with any other company, as there are many local companies who will do a much better job at a fraction of the cost! We had a wardrobe installed. We thought it might add value to our home to have a custom California closet, but more importantly we did this for to improve our own lives and organization. Built-in bookshelves with bottom cabinets project took over 2 1/2 months longer than quoted to complete: Incorrect colors were brought at the first installation date, along with missing cabinet fronts. At the second installation date to fix the color issue (white molding was brought initially instead of the black to match the rest of the design), the cabinet fronts were still missing. It took me emailing over and over for weeks to get clarity on when the project would be finished; each time there was about a week in between ... read more

Please read this review if you are considering hiring California Closets or its sister company Lavish. We have used them in New York and Texas for multiple bedroom closets, master closets, and bathrooms. What they do well: 1. Design. The studio and the employees are very well trained in design and being able to create a mock up to help you visualize what your closest or vanity will look like. Kimberly Woytek from California Closets did a fantastic job on helping me maximize the small footprint of my closet while also making it look beautiful, clean, and peaceful. I love the space and it makes me so happy to see it every time I go in. Kimberly is a wonderful designer and a lovely person.

We had the best experience working with California Closets and specifically with Alexis Barry. Her years of experience were invaluable when it came time to design our closet space and we are very happy with the result. It is also rare that a renovation goes smoothly and in this case we had no issues. Communication was clear and scheduling install was easy. Installers were respectful of our home, communicated clearly and executed efficiently.

We have run the gambit of terrible construction experiences, resulting in being highly involved in the process and very particular with our expectations of the work. California Closets not only met our expectations, but they exceeded them.
