Easily the best experience we could've imagined having! Kimberly (sales) and Kyle (install) were fantastic to work with. From our first day visiting the show room and meeting with Kimberly to the last day of Kyle coming to wrap up over a weekend to ensure we hit our time deadline, the team worked as efficiently as possible to make sure we got the best quality product for the price. Having spent 35+ years in corporate management, I have never encountered a more disorganized and arrogant service model than the Austin/San Antonio California Closets franchise. The Timeline: We signed in May 2025 for a project promised to take 4-5 days. It began in late July and was not "finished" until September--nearly a five-month ordeal for a standard master closet. Would not recommend for a multitude of reasons. In hindsight wish I saved the $20K I spent with them and did an IKEA wardrobe install with a contractor to add some custom touches. I would have gotten the same results, and spent far less of my time following up and asking critical questions the team hadn't solved for to get to the final build. Absolutely loved working with Coco and california closets! She was so detailed and patient with all my requests for our media room and wall bed. I highly recommend California Closets, they are more affordable than their competition. Ask for Coco as your design consultant when you go!

Terrible experience. I am so very disappointed. I wish I had gone with any other company, as there are many local companies who will do a much better job at a fraction of the cost! We had a wardrobe installed. We thought it might add value to our home to have a custom California closet, but more importantly we did this for to improve our own lives and organization. It has taken value away from daily life. First, it looks exactly like ikea. Ikea actually would have been better because at least it can be modified and upgraded.... read more

Built-in bookshelves with bottom cabinets project took over 2 1/2 months longer than quoted to complete: Incorrect colors were brought at the first installation date, along with missing cabinet fronts. At the second installation date to fix the color issue (white molding was brought initially instead of the black to match the rest of the design), the cabinet fronts were still missing. It took me emailing over and over for weeks to get clarity on when the project would be finished; each time there was about a week in between ... read more

Please read this review if you are considering hiring California Closets or its sister company Lavish. We have used them in New York and Texas for multiple bedroom closets, master closets, and bathrooms. What they do well: 1. Design. The studio and the employees are very well trained in design and being able to create a mock up to help you visualize what your closest or vanity will look like.
