BEST RESTORATION COMPANY EVER! I had a house fire in August of 2020 and a representative from Michaelis showed up at 1:00 am while the Firemen were still at my house! He was so kind and courteous to me that I decided to go with Michaelis for the re-build of my house. I am so glad I did, best decision I have ever made in my life! Michaelis repaired tree damage to my roof and flooding in my bedroom, which had hardwood floors. They repaired the roof, ripped out the wall and dried everything. They rebuilt the wall, painted and refinished the hardwood floors. The end result is great. They were timely, friendly and professional.

Perfect? No. What is? Service beyond what I have experienced from most companies? Absolutely. Masters of that dying art, and very good at their craft, we started a project with Michaelis that had a definite beginning, and seemingly had no end for our home built in 1927. Quick response, excellent service, competitive rate. What more could I ask for? They took care of me in a professional manner on extremely short notice. All the repairs were explained to me thoroughly so I understood exactly what had happened and what was going to happen. And the job was done when they said it would be. Couldn't be happier.

We had scheduled an appointment for an estimate. Our basement has some water issues and we need a radon mitigation system. 45 minutes after the scheduled (and confirmed) appointment time, Nick had not shown up, nor had we received a phone call...so I called the office to let them know and to cancel. I understand things can happen, but the lack of communication didn't bode well. Maybe it was a fluke...maybe it was indicative of how the company is run. I guess I'll never know. I wanted to share an experience that I had over the weekend with this company. And not so much for the company and the services it offers but for one of its employees. I'm an elderly woman that is having a bathroom remodel and I was at the local Menards trying to get materials into my Ford fusion. Again I implore everyone to avoid this business. If you have time, read the recent indiana Supreme Court opinion Safeco Insurance Company and Ramona Wilson v Michaelis Corp. Michaels never listens and is horrible at communicating! In that case, a faulty kitchen device caused a fire and $500,000 of damage to the woman's house. Michaelis was brought in to clean up and was instructed to leave the kitchen area untouched. "Michaelis then demolished the kitchen and discarded the [kitchen device]." We had home damage from a storm a few years ago. It took them over two years to finish the fairly small project. They were non-responsive until we learned that the agent we had left the business. We obviously fell through the cracks, but why no response when they were repeatedly contacted not only by us, but by our insurance company. It was a frustrating and disappointing time.
